ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum Certified Malik has said that Pakistan has no harm from buying Russian oil, but it cannot be said how much benefit it will.
Talking to Shahzib Khanzada, Geo News program today, Mushtaq Malik said that those who are saying Russian oil are not beneficial, why did Russian oil talk about it? If Russian oil was not cheap, why did you make announcements? There are about 8 types of crude oil available in Russia, we are taking European crude oil from Russia.
He said that the country's refinery lights are designed to refine Arabian crude oil, Arabian lights can be used with crude oil up to 30 to 35 percent of Eurols, Russian crude oil refinery will increase the production of oil.
He further said that the commercial deal we have made is beneficial to the country, there is no harm to Pakistan by buying Russian oil, bringing Russian oil will increase the transportation cost, international companies do not provide insurance for Russian crude oil.
The Minister of State said that our insurance cost has also increased for bringing Russian crude oil, our benefit is very important, I cannot tell how much it will be, it doesn't matter if the oil is paid in any currency, whatever currency we have. Liquidity will be paid in it.
Initially, state-owned refineries are supplying Russian oil: confirmed country
During the program, he said that initially they are supplying Russian oil to the government refineries, later private refineries will also be able to take it if they want. Cheap gas will be available from Azerbaijan in one and a half months.
It should be noted that a few days ago, the Russian ship "Pure Point" arrived at Karachi port with crude oil. The 183-meter long Russian ship Pure Point has loaded 45 thousand metric tons of oil.
In January this year, the current government started negotiations to buy cheap oil and gas from Russia.
The arrival of Russian oil and gas in Pakistan is being considered as an important development in Pakistan-Russia trade relations.
Later on June 13, the first shipment of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Russia also reached Pakistan through Torkham border.
The LPG cargo consists of 10 tankers which is part of 100,000 tonnes of LPG purchased from Russia.
LPG from Russia was first transported by rail to Uzbekistan from where it was transported to Pakistan via Afghanistan by tankers.
